Dvora Adar, artist and painter

There is magic when you work with oils, you start a painting and it keeps on evolving in front of your eyes, as if God gives it the last touch.

Dvora

Dvora was born in 1951 in Israel where her talent was evident from an early age. A versatile painter who has travelled extensively and lived in many places, she arrived in Australia in 1984.

One of the places she loves the most is tropical North Queensland. Its unique flora and fauna, the islands and the luscious rainforests have left a lasting impression. Many of her paintings are images of this part of the world.

A self-taught painter, she explored different mediums through the years, finally settling for oil. Dvora loves the figurative - from portraiture to the romance of the ballet. Yet she feels equally at home with sea and landscapes.

Dvora has exhibited in a variety of galleries across Australia. From the Arts Society Exhibition in Cairns to Mount Pleasant in Mount Pleasant Gallery, The Aurora Australis Galleries in the Gold Coast and Brisbane, as well as solo exhibits in Kirckaldy Davis and Duke Gallery in Melbourne. These days she works from home holding private shows and accepting commissions.

Her paintings are in private collections in Australia and around the world.
